New to the program, I want Tasker to automatically mute all phone audio (notifications, ringer, etc.) if my headphones aren't plugged in, while also conversely unmuting when they are plugged in.

I found System Volume in the task options, but can't find the plugged in state in the 'if' indicator.

Please help! Currently using trial version to see if this is possible and have no issue buying full if it is!

There is a great beginner video at menu / info / guides. Along with others on utube.

You will need set the volumes  individually unless the 'silent mode' option suits your needs.

, but can't find the plugged in state in the 'if' indicator.

The 'plugged in' part will be in the context of the profile. Not in the task.

This will be a very simple profile to create. If you are interested in having better control over what you device does then tasker will be a wise investment.  You will need to invest some time to learn how to properly use it, however it is well worth the effort.

Take a look at the videos, try to put it together and post here when you get stuck.
