I use my phone at work to stream Pandora or ESPN radio and want to set
a profile so that, when the phone is charging, the screen lock is
removed.

Has anyone done this or some variation?

Thanks!

You could do something like this:

Context: State --> Power --> Power --> Any

Optional:
Context: Time 08:00 - 17:00 (or whenever your work hours are if you
only want this to happen at work)
Context: Day M,T,W,Th,F (or whenever else you work if it's regular
hours if you want it at work)
Context: Location Work Location (if you want to use location if you
work weird days/hours... this will/can drain battery though)

Enter Task: Display --> Display Timeout --> 23 hours (or something
else high enough that it will stay on)

If you want it reversed when you unplug the phone then you can add
another profile like this (you could also use an exit task if you
didn't specify other context at the start):

Context: State --> Power --> Power --> Any (click the check mark
beside Invert to make the trigger actuate as soon as the phone is
unplugged)
Enter Task: Display --> Display Timeout -->30 seconds (or whatever
else you want this to be set to normally)

Perhaps you could set this setting as described here to achieve your
goal:

Hi,
Try the "Secure Setting" plugin http://www.xda-developers.com/android/secure-settings-a-tasker-plugin/

That's what I use, with a contexte of wifi connected to my house's
SSID, i have juste a 1 action task that tells keyguard to desactivate
(I tried with "patternlock" but it doesn't seem to work)
And added an exit task with the oposite.

the screen needs to be on when enabling en disabling pattern lock, else you seem to get weird results
also, if your pattern lock would just disable when plugging in a cable it's really not that secure
so I would go for:
State - Power - Power - Any
Event - Display Unlocked
this requires you to unlock one time and makes sure the screen is on

Enter Task:
Plugin - Secure Settings - Keyguard - Off

Exit Task:
Plugin - Secure Settings - Wake Device - Screen Dim - 5 Secs
Plugin - Secure Settings - Keyguard - On
Wait 150 ms
Plugin - Secure Settings - Lock Device - Device Admin Enabled - Enable Pattern Lock

the reason I use Secure Settings plugin is because some things aren't available in Tasker on my SGSII
I have similar setup when entering my car and it works fine :)
