Hi,

Anyone got a working solution for switching Mobile Network Type on Android 14?
The default "Mobile Network Type" task says that it is not possible anymore -even with all the necessary permissions- since some Android version changes.

I found the Custom Settings > global > preferred_network_mode, which can be run, but does not do anything in fact.

Any other ideas?

I am running Android 12 on two different manufacturers. One runs
PowerShade app fine. The other disables it after a very short run.
You might find that a different manufacturer has a better setup under
14.

Sorry, I really don't know anything about 14, but I hope this is
helpful. Can you set up the phone to access developer options? That can
sometimes fix problems like you describe.

If you happen to have a Samsung phone, you can use Routines (formerly Bixby routines) to do the job. It can switch between 3G/5G and it can be triggered by a  notification with a specific text. So if you use Tasker to show a notification containing e.g. "switch to 5G", you can let Routines react to that, and perform the actual switch.

Thanks for the answers guys, I forgot to mention I have a Pixel 7. So I can't do Bixby stuff.
I have Developer options enabled, but that doesn't do much and I don't want to root the phone.
Also gave all permissions through the tasker_permissions desktop app with ADB debugging. Which is enough for the most tasks, but not for the Network Type switch. :/
