Hello,

Yesterday my Tasker profile doesn't work anymore and when I open Tasker, all my profiles and tasks was missing (variables was still there)
I didn't delete anything and I didn't touch the Data menu in tasker
I just changed SD card one week ago, but all my Tasker data are on the internal storage so it should not have any effect

Today I try a restoration with the Data menu and it work, but it give me old data (dating from the day I saved)

Is it an other way to get my data back ?
Do you know why my data disappear ?

Thank you

You 100% sure its gone? Sometimes the projects get hidden but searching Tasker shows there still there. If you see a plus button at the bottom of the screen long press it.

I try your suggestion but I don't find anything

Thank you

Does anyone know where are the profile data stored (i.e. /data/.com...../profiledata/) ?
Maybe I will find it on a backup of all my phone

Mine is at

/data/data/net.dinglisch.android.taskerm/files/autobackup.xml

The "m" at the end of "taskerm" is because it's the play store (formerly "market") version. If you have a direct-purchase version, there wouldn't be an "m".

Very sorry to hear about your data loss :-(

About once in 6 months someone reports this. I don't believe it's a Tasker problem (because of
how rarely it's reported despite the hundreds of thousands of users and how often then go
into and out of Tasker) but maybe low OS memory at some critical moment of save/load,
memory corruption/failure or something similar.

I can't suggest a way to recover the data, but would advise enabling Menu / Prefs / More / Auto-Backup
so it won't cause a problem in the future.

Tank you !

  /data/data/net.dinglisch.android.taskerm/files/autobackup.xml
I look at this file but it is empty (just one line) in an old full backup

I choose the Auto-Backup after losing my data (too late)

With the Auto-Backup, several backup version is retained ?
Or each backup overwrites the previous one?
In the second case, I would have the same problem
If the backup is made after I see that data has been lost, restore will not help me
to recover the data

It will keep as many backups as you have space for, up to the time limit you specified when enabling autobackups. Backups are created when you make changes and then exit the UI using the Back button. If you don't make any changes for a while, and wait longer than the interval specified, when the next backup is created, all backups older than interval will be deleted. So if the older backups are important, you need to manually copy them somewhere else.
