Hi all

I was looking at the Preferences page the other day and found 'Notification Action Buttons' under the Moniotor tab. When I looked at the help for it, it says that "When a taks is selected, it will be shown in the permanent monitopr notification (by pulling down on the notification) and can be run directly from there."

Great, I thought, I can think of a couple of tasks I could put there that would be very handy to run from the notification pull down. However, when I put a task in there, nothing happens - I can't see it in the notification pull down to access it.

Is there something else I need to do to get this to work? Or have it misunderstood what it does?

Thanks in advance.

You didn't mention what version of Android you have. This works as part of the expandable notifications. Two finger swipe down expands the notification to expose the buttons. I think this needs Android KitKat. It may have been added to late versions of jelly bean, I don't remember.

Hi Scott

You're absolutely right I didn't mention it - my mistake. Sorry!

I am running stock Android KitKat 4.4.2 on a Samsung Galaxy S4.

I tried the two finger swipe, which reveals more buttons, but the other notifications disappear and there was no sign of the Tasker notifications.

Many tyanks fo ryou help though.

Is there no Tasker permanent notification in your notification panel?  Do you have "run in foreground" checked in the Tasker preferences?

This doesnt really help but since KK (i think) you don't have to use 2 fingers anymore just use one finger swipe down through the notification to expand it and then to close it swipe down again but then straight back up without lifting your finger.

I think you are bringing down "quick settings" with the 2 finger drag down from the status bar - (wrong place)

use 1 finger to pull down your normal notification panel so you can see the Tasker notification. now try dragging the Tasker notification down with 1 finger or 2 (should work for either) (always been the case since android 4.1.1)

Scott

Thanks Rudeboy! That worked! Didn't know I had to swipe down. World's a treat now.

Thanks to everyone who helped.
