Shortcut Task delay in executing in OneUI 7

Hi, I am using gestures in Nova Launcher to execute Tasker shortcut tasks. Some of these tasks include clearing notifications. Every time I try to execute a task, it is very slow, it takes a few seconds before the task runs. I have also tested with a toast message as a task, it is also the same.

I didn't have this problem in OneUI 6 with S24. Is there an option that I miss that could fix this, or will Tasker be updated to fix this issue? It has become like a handicap problem to me, because I am so reliant on Tasker tasks to use the phone efficiently.

Thanks.

I am not seeing that on my S25U. Have you disabled all of the battery optimization options for Tasker and it's plugins?

I'm seeing the same thing on a S22 Ultra. After i press the icon, it takes about 3 seconds for the task to initiate. These particular tasks consist only of a single autoinput v2 plugin that opens an app and navigates to display a specific screen. Prior to Android 15, OneUI 7, the task started almost instantaneously.

I thought I had it solved by opening the Autoinput app, selecting Advanced, and setting Retry Interval from 1000ms to 500ms. That seemed to speed it up at first, but the delay now seems to have returned.

I thought it was just me.

I did find a thread back from 2016 that helped - use a widget created from the OneUI launcher (the second option under Tasker, that just says Task, not Task Shortcut) and it should launch instantly.

Previously I was using a shortcut created from within tasker, IE Add to Launcher, but that had varying delays and was quite infuriating, but this solved the issue immediately for me, also OneUI 7.

Kind Regards,
Anthony

Anthony's suggestion solved my delay problem. It did introduce some icon appearance issues, e.g. inability to use a specific application icon and small, cut off print. However these issues pale in comparison to the delay problem.

Thanks Anthony.
