Aqua Mail 1.5, including the Tasker event plugin, has been released to Play Store.

It includes two plug-ins. One is an action plugin, allowing the management of settings and synching. The other is an event plugin, that is triggered on values in To, CC, From, Subject, and High Priority, as well as the account in which it was received.

Oops, thought it was already there, it's been in the 'essential plugins list' in the Tasker APK since 4.4 I think.

Marvelous! Is there any way to get at the subject and sender in the triggered task?

Of course. There are variables available for each of the supported trigger values.

Er, but what are they? I couldn't find them documented anywhere.

Press the tag icon to display available variables when editing an action. They all start with %aq.

Oh, neat! I've never seen a plugin's variables in that list.

That is the common way now to show variables, at least with all the auto apps. :-)

There's a Tasker API for it for all plugin types (event, state, action), but it was only relatively recently
added.

Okay, I feel like a total noob here, but I swear, I'm far from a Tasker newbie :) I can't for the life of me get this event to fire. I want it to fire on all emails arriving in the one account I have configured. I've tried setting the account to "Any" and leaving all the rest of the fields (and the "high priority only" checkbox) blank, and events don't fire. I've verified that by checking the runlog; the profile never activates. I've also tried choosing my account specifically, and filled in '*' in each of the fields, all to no avail. Am I missing some "make it work" setting somewhere?

Well, first, you might want to export the profile description to clipboard and paste it here. Second, there is no wild card support, if I remember correctly, so leave them blank to get everything. I don't know what happens though, if you leave everything blank. Thirdly, you might have better luck getting information from the developer if you post your questions in the Aqua Mail forum. It's available through Tapatalk, and the developer is active there.

Oh, and don't forget to back out of Tasker, don't press the home button to exit.

I have a profile configured for a specific account and a specific from address and it works perfectly. I'm only mentioning it so you know it does work.
