Bump. Anyone, please?

What I'm trying to do is to get alerts on tweets by a specific person, tweets containing specific keywords, and would appreciate any guidance on specific ways this might be possible. Not expecting anyone to do the work for me, just thinking about possible approaches.

I dont think tasker has built in support for any 3rd party twitter client on android. These are the two ways I¨ve thought of so far:

1. Have twitter client update in the background and notify on new tweets. Have tasker read the notification and alert on specific keyword. - Potential drawbacks: Not familiar with various twitter clients notification abilities and their filters, not sure there even is a possibility for them to only send notification of specific peoples tweets. And even if they can, not sure they show enough of any tweet to actually identify the keyword. At the end of the day you may end up with alerts for far more tweets than you'd want.

2. Have twitter, or 3rd party service if such exists, notify you via email on new tweets by a specific person. Have tasker pick up the email notification and alert. - Potential drawbacks: Not done enough research in this area, know that twitter can send email notifications of mentions, replies, retweets, DM of your handle. Not sure there is possibility to do this completely, but if there is, it could save resources with lesser background checks needed. Cant see identification via tweet keyword being possible though, so would likely be stuck with alerts for all tweets by a specific person.

If filtering down notifications to only tweets by a specific person becomes an issue, setting up a new twitter account as well as email for these specific purposes could be a sollution, albeit an inconvinient one.

Can tasker do more in a task like this, or am I likely stuck to something similar of the above?

Should be said that updates via text, that twitter offers in some areas, are not an option.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks

I don't know but you could have a look into ifttt.com to monitor your twitter account, not sure what the capabilities are, though.
