Vibration strength

I am trying to "kick" me in different tasks using the Vibrate or
Vibrate pattern action. The problem is that the vibration intensity is
really weak and I can notice it only when holding the phone in my
hand, since the intensity is the same as for keyboard and action
feedback, not the same as for the phone calls. I would not like to
increase the feedback vibration intensity since the phone would
vibrate strong when e.g. writing text.

I found one way to do this, but not perfect
- Notify "!" Vibrate
- Wait 1 second
- Notify "!" Cancel

Any way to increase the intensity for Vibrate/Vibrate Pattern actions
other than changing it globally?

I wasn't aware it was possible to change the intensity, there's no
mention in the Android API.

Are you sure it's not just vibrating for longer ?

Yep, just tested by maximizing the global setting. Now Vibrate action
with 1sec was the same as Notify Vibrate.

My phone is SGII.

Plus one for wanting an answer to this, I'm also on SG2 and I can't
make the vibrate alerts strong enough to notice them.

Ok, after messing around for a bit, I discovered that the option
(under Sound Settings -> Feedback -> Vibration intensity) was disabled
because I had turned off haptic feedback. I turned haptic feedback on,
turned the intensity up, then turned it off again. The custom vibrate
alerts are now easily noticable.

That must be device specific. My Moto Atrix doesn't have that
setting.

Also not on my Nexus S, maybe Samsung stuff. So sorry, not possible to
change with Tasker. These things often make it into standard Android
at some point however, so there's some hope.

Sorry, i was away for a few days. Fortunately Beth found the setting I
was referring to.

I'll keep using the Notify action.
