Anyone running Tasker in an emulator (virtual machine running Android)? If so, would that require an additional license? I was thinking this may be a much easier method of writing/testing tasks, then sending them to phone for use.

I tried using the trial on the emulator, but it kept force closing. Didn't really need it tho, so I didn't check the logcat. Might have been an AVD setting I've forgotten about.

Android emulators tend to do a poor job with emulating:

sensors
wifi connectivity
cell connectivity
phone calls
docks
ac power plugs
bluetooth
etc.etc

That doesn't leave much that works that you can actually use Tasker for.

...
gps location
screen brightness
screen rotation
multitouch screen interactions
slide out keyboards
battery levels
...

And emulated Android environments can be much slower than real Android devices.
