I purchased Tasker several years ago (I assume you can verify that based on my Google account here). I'm running LineageOS without the Google Play store now. Is it possible to run Tasker in such a configuration without "pirating" it?

Yes, you really do have to have Google Play. Can't you just install GApps on it?

I have microG, but since I've tried (and mostly succeeded) to avoid having proprietary Google code on my phone, I'm not going to "infect" my phone just for Tasker, unfortunately. microG allegedly provides the framework for some apps to confirm whether the running Google user has purchased them, so I may just try to get the APK over there somehow and see what happens.

(BTW, thanks for taking on the challenge of managing such a useful program!)

Maybe you could get the apk off of the APK Mirror?

You would need to get it activated somehow. I don’t know how you would do that without the playstore.
