Tasker without Google Play

Hi,

I was looking for answers for my questions on official Tasker site and on the forum, but unfortunately, I haven't found an exhaustive answer anywhere.
I have Tasker bought in Play Store in 2016. But now I'm on LineageOS without Gapps.
I was thinking about buying the Direct-Purchase version, but it is supposed to be discontinued.
I tried to install a trial version from the manufacturer - it asks for validation if it was purchased in or after July 2018.
Can I validate the version with my order ID from 2016 or do I have to buy the Play Store version again?
I think that this issue requires a detailed discussion in the FAQ - currently there is confusion (perhaps due to the change of owner) and I admit that I am a little bit confused.
I will be grateful if someone explains to me in an exhaustive way how it looks now possibility to validate Tasker on devices without Google Play.
