It is a false positive. A virus scanner should warn about the permissions but no this is NOT malware.

Tasker is a tool that needs a lot of permissions. It also comes with us trusting the owner,

João Dias. He would not be around for as long as he has/is if  he did anything untrustworthy.

Antivirus on a phone seems like a scam to me?!  Waste of cycles and wasting the lifetime of our phone. We only install from trusted sources so where would  a virus come from?!

Yes. Other people reported it as well. Unfortunately I don't control how anti-virus programs work so all I can say is that it's a false positive maybe caused by all the permissions Tasker requests? I can't really know for sure. All I can ask is if you can report the false-positive here: https://submit.norton.com/
That would probably help!

Thanks in advance!

Thanks joaomgcd,  https://submit.norton.com/ is where I submitted a false positive before this post, the integration or add-on feature of Tasky after the upgrade throw me off a little as well.

Thanks Wim Damen, as well. I agree been using tasker and other joaomgcd app's for more than 10 yrs' i think so summitted for a false positive with Norton. I still feel a little better running Norton on the phone as well, it had detected ARP posing (Due to be swapping my WIFI router) and a malicious web link in unknown text message, hackers are getting more crafty! Never really noticed a slowdown on the phone as well.

Thank you for that URL - I just submitted too.
I wasted 20 minutes on Chat the other day trying to report it. The useless rep advised me to uninstall/reinstall Norton at which point I told him to escalate and then hung up on him.

Probably we need many people complaining to Symantec to get them to fix this.

Ummmmm..... Just checking here....... You guys are Tasker users right? Not fools, right? Not born in 1959 or 2012, right?

I haven't run Virus or Malware scan for years. Clear instruction, not an opinion:

DO NOT GO TO BAD WEBSITES.

UNINSTALL ALL VIRUS/ANTI-VIRUS CRAP (the worst Malware I know)

Good to go! Have fun using Tasker.

Lol. Don't mind my laughing at all y'all's expense.
Antivirus prompts and even trying to use that crap and running Tasker profiles and actions...
Literally use trustworthy sites and don't worry ever again. These functions are opposed to one another.
