Playing Record Audio MP4 AMR Narrowband on windows 7 Media Player?

Tasker 1.3 Audio Record now supports writing to this MP4 format.

 

Anybody have any luck playing this on Windows 7 with Windows Media Player?

A few questions about audio record feature.

 

Why MP4? and not MP3?  I tried two converters and adding codecs .. no luck on WMP.  One convert says I need itunes?? Most of us are Android because we did not want Apple.

 

Why the 500kb limit? And I can only get about 5 minutes of recording in 500kb. By comparison  I have a usb key that can record 12 hours in 2gb on only 3 hours of charge.

Not sure about MP4 vs MP3 as I don't use the record audio function myself, but if you leave the max size at 0, there is no limit to the recording size (except your free space). It mentions this in the help text (press the blue question mark in the bottom right when setting up the action).

Why MP4? and not MP3?

Because that's what Android makes available.

Running out of space would not be good. How about a limit increase request of 1000kb for about 10 minutes of audio?

You can do a sequence of three actions: start recording (with no limit set), wait 10 minutes, then stop recording.

Can somebody recommend one?.. i've tried intalling the codec pack for wmp. Installed divx with quicktime and the codec packs.. can't play mp4 or 3pg produced by my android on my windows client.

This is going to sound odd.. but only some of the MP4 genated by record audio from tasker with Default, AMR Narrowband, MP4 format play on my wmp 11 on windows 7 .  Not sure why or how, only some of the 500k 5 minute mp4 recordings have bitrate and length information and these are the ones that play.  All recorded on the same EVO android phone within an hour of each other.
