I'm developping several profiles/tasks/apps with tasker. It's possible to develop profiles and tasks over my windows or unix computer an not directly on the android phone in tasker? My tasks are very large and I need a possibility to develop all this on bigger screens. It's very important for me.

@Pent: I would also pay something to get this possibility.

Is there also a tool for versioning tasker code like subversion or something like this?

Thx cheafnebur

+1 It would be very handy to have a desktop program that can create tasks and profiles and then export them to Tasker.
I would also suggest that as an initial step if this program would ever be created, is to have a Build Phone Profile button on Tasker, this way the desktop
program knows what's available and what's not available on your phone/tablet.

I can see a road block maybe where you have plugins, and you want to use those plugins.
Anyway, this would be fantastic.

I think the easiest way for now is to use Android SDK phone emulator with Tasker installed. I heard about some kind of success in this way.

Have you tried using blue stack? It's an app that allows you to sync and run apps from android to your windows/linux pc.

Could you link to the bluestacks app?  It may help answer the question in the future:

This appears to be the company website
and they have 3 Android Apps

Which should be used?

Thanks

Ok, I think I have found the solution to this thread. It's not a 100% solution but more like 95%

The answer is Genymotion. A full android device emulated in vbox. I used a nexus 7 image and the program works great. You can simulate low battery and gps locations.
Only issue I found so far is you can not use your microphone. It does not tap into it, but this might be added later.

I installed few apps (Tasker included) and all worked great.

Here is the link http://www.genymotion.com/

I hope this is useful for some.
