Hi. The IR Blaster on my HTC One M8 works very well. It can obviously receive IR signals too because you can get it to "learn" remotes. So, my question is, can I use Tasker to respond to an IR signal the phone receives? My idea would be to control the camera remotely with a small Apple TV remote I have. This would be good for family group photos etc. Thanks for any advice. D

I don't have an HTC One, but I bet the IR LED is not very sensitive for detecting signals. I assume to do the learning, the "teaching" remote has to be at most a few inches away? This might prove fruitless due to hardware. A bluetooth remote might be a better option.

Thanks. I thought I might be going beyond the technology. :)
