so I guess you need to learn the basics of Tasker.
Here is the user guide to Tasker: https://tasker.joaoapps.com/userguide_summary.html
And here you can see a beginner guide on YouTube: https://youtu.be/EVNUGUv-lIY

Basically you need to do only 4 things:
1) create a Task which enters Waze (action "Launch App")
2) create a Task which kills Waze (Action "kill App")
3) create a Profile which triggers when your cars BT connects/disconnects (State: BT Connected)
4) setting within the profile 1) as enter Task and 2) as exit Task

In the YouTube video you can see how to create tasks and profiles and how Tasker works.

Hope this helps

Waze:... *question mark* isnt that the alternative to the service Google Maps provides,
in regards to navigation or am I mistaken,
which would be strange because,
you˜re posting about it via a Google Group,
... unless all their developers and support staff if any and applicable had been scouted and employed by google,
and thus being the reason why it makes sense to seek support about it here.

my solution would be to use Google Maps,
just exclude ˆgroupsˆ from the original URL domain name,
and click the app icon top right of the webpage,
similar to if you go to iwill.sellsome.online,
if you exclude Iwill,
youll be redirected to my main homepage during construction of the new site,
but if you click the button labeled for merchandise purchases,
youll be redirected in the same way to iwill.sellsome.online

  have a good one,
and anything helps,
if not too much to ask for,
if this helps or etc,
just LMK, and itll be recognized, etc.
thanks, if not, have a good one.

Even though this happens to be a Google Groups forum, it's a forum specfically about Tasker, and it's therefore perfectly valid to talk about using Tasker to invoke and kill *any* apps (not just Google-supplied apps) in this forum.

The original question is about how to use Tasker to start and stop Waze. In Tasker, starting and stopping an app is the same no matter which app might be chosen. In other words, the way to start and stop Waze, Google Maps, or any other app is the same in Tasker. Therefore, giving those Google-Maps-specific instructions does not answer the original question.

The answer above by "manue...@gmail.com" outlines what needs to be done in order to start and stop *any* app using Tasker ... including Waze.

And actually, many people (including me) prefer using Waze to using Google Maps, and IMO there are good, valid reasons to do so.

Thank you so much for your help.
I have seen the beginners guide as suggested. But still I found it very complicated. Would be possible create a taskernet to import what I need to be done?

Just change the BT device in the profile.

Also have a look to Tasky, it is the very simplified version of Tasker. Here you can also download projects and tasks and adjust them very easily. Search on YT for Tasky to see more.

This is a great idea..
I have 3 vehicles..    I need to some how add a variable that says my BT connection is a vehicle BT connection..

Currently when I unlock my device i have a menu pop up with my favorite tasks..
one of them is waze alone..  another is a waze destinations menu..  where it lists my favorite destinations and i choose one and waze starts with that destination.

So for now, i just set bluetooth connection to pop up my favorite destinations menu list..

I haven't worked with tasker in a while, months or a year so i forget the proper terms.

Not sure if this function still works or not; it's been a while since I used it.

Trigger: Event -> System -> Device Boot
Task -> Run your program

State -> BT Connected, then specify which device you are connecting to.  I have a variable set for each Bluetooth and set by time of day.  If I connect to my car before x time, I'm going to work.  If I connect to my wife's car, we're going to her job.  Having the time restriction in there helps since I don't want to go to work if we go to dinner or something for the kids.

I don't know about your BT, but mine are super sensitive.  It connects to my phone even if I put my lunchbox on the car.  A stiff breeze starts them connecting to our phones, even if we are 20+ feet away and across the house.  We have to shut our BT off until we get in the car.  Once we're in the cars, turn on the BT, let it connect, and the profile/tasks we have set trigger just fine.
