Is there any flexible way to edit tasker tasks?  The only possibilities I see in the current editor are to add a new action at the bottom (the "+" button), and to drag an existing action to the trash.
Am I missing something, e.g. a way to re-arrange actions, or add a new action at the top or in the middle?  It is a pain to remember all the configuration options of each action in a task and re-enter them all later on, just because I want to add something new early on.

Lacking a fancy GUI for any of those, how about copying an action, and pasting it into a new task?  Or a way to export as text, edit in a text editor, and load into a new task?

Thanks,

Pent

Drag existing actions up or down via touch-and-drag on the right hand
side.

Long-click on an action, select Insert.

Long-click.

Have a look at Menu / Help This Screen while editing a task.

Make sure you have at least version 1.2 (see Menu / Info / About).

Thanks for the tips!  I was looking for different UI feedback for rearranging, but I see that although the action doesn't move with the drag, it does highlight where it'll go.  And I had 1.1, so I'm glad to see the support in 1.2 for export to xml.

But for me, in version 1.2u2m, long-click on an action deletes it without any confirmation, rather than giving me a menu as you (and the manual) suggest.  That strikes me as a bug, or an awful design, especially since I seen no way to recover it other than cancelling the whole editing session.  This is on android 2.3.4 - mytouch 4g slide.

Go to settings and select "what to do when long click" option.

Curious - I went to look at that screen for the first time, and it said "options" for long click.  I exited without saving from the dialog, and went back to edit a task and now a long click does options, rather than delete.  Very odd.

But thanks Prieto - its working now :)
