Power On/Off - Bluetooth

Friends - I finally got a new phone. On my old phone, I had a Tasker routine that did this:

Power (any source) ON = Bluetooth ON

Power OFF = Bluetooth OFF

Basically, I just want Bluetooth on when I'm in the car and the phone is plugged into a power source.

I was able to write the Profile when I got the old phone, but for some reason I can't do it on the new phone. This is about as simple as it gets, and it's getting frustrating!

Can somebody treat me like I'm a 10-year-old and walk me through, step-by-step, how I can write this profile on my new phone?

Good news, bad news. I figured out how to re-write my old Profile. That's the good news. The bad news is that I get an error message regarding API 33, and that the latest version of Android has changed how its handled.

So, now I REALLY need help, because I'm lost. I'd appreciate any advice or assistance.

Have you guys looked at the Tasker Settings auxiliary program (not available in the play store, but available on the Tasker web site). It has been compiled with an earlier API level, so TS can still turn on and off this stuff. If TS is installed, Tasker will use it.

Google "Tasker Settings". I think it is actually stored on Github.

Found it, but not being a "techy," it's incomprehensible to me. Any advice would be appreciated.

Can anyone offer me a "user friendly" Tasker solution for this issue. I'd sure appreciate it.

The Tasker Settings needs to be sideloaded in from you PC onto your phone through ADB.

Now, I know this is a Tasker forum, but for some reason MacroDroid can still control the Hotspot and Wifi modules. I run both on my phone. Tasker can do more things, but MacroDroid has an easier interface (IMO). I might create a Task to have MacroDroid control my wifi until I can sideload TaskerSettings.

MacroDroid has the same limitation. It requires an APK be downloaded and installed.

Dear all:

My mobile phone is Xiaomi.
I tried "tasker settings apk" with file name with/without "xiaomi_huawei" appendix,
But I'm still failing on bluetooth on/off because the user prompt is annoying.

Yeah I have been having the problem for a while. What i have noticed is I download tasker settings and then it works for a short period of time ie bluetooth can be turned off and on. but then I get the api 33 message and it fails to work.

Its almost like tasker stops seeing tasker settings.

Is this the same problem others are seeing

Also I saw that sideloading is needed is that true, I just download tasker setting from the link and then install from my download directory

Its becoming a bit of a pain

Hi there.
To make sure Tasker and the AutoApps and Tasker Settings run in the foreground please check here: https://tasker.joaoapps.com/userguide/en/faqs/faq-problem.html#00

Pay special attention to the location part. If Tasker doesn't have permission to get location in the background it might not work correctly, so disable and re-enable the location permission and make sure that you allow Tasker to always access it.

Tried that still not working.

Even when i start the task whilst in the app it fails on bluetooth - strangely works on wifi and such

I uninstalled tasker settings - downloaded latest and sideloaded it with ADB and re permissioned it - its got device admin rights ?

Still failing to toggle on bluetooth

Okay solved. Check the tasker setting page there are different version i was re downloading v 1.2.0...

there is a v1.6.x which works.

Ignore all of the virus warnings

and it seems to work now ..

Moral read all of the doco :)
