How can I get Tasker to work with Lux?

I'm using the application Lux (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.vito.lux) to manage the light levels.

When I do this, the %BRIGHT variable becomes useless, as Lux appears to be changing the light levels independently of the Android setting (which stays wherever it was last set by hand).

According to the app features, it says it has Tasker support, but I have no idea how to work with it through Tasker.  The author isn't replying to emails, so does anyone here know how I can interact with this app through Tasker?

If it has 'Tasker support' maybe it has an entry in the Plugin action
or state category.

Ah, I was looking under "3rd Party".  Yes, it has an entry under Plugin - although it's useless for this.

I assume there's nothing I can do with Tasker to get it to read the actual brightness level, if it's being changed independently of the Android slider setting?

Correct, %BRIGHT just reads the system preference.
