Samsung S10+ still kills background tasks!

Hey

I have tasks running in the background on my phone. They monitor incoming SMS and if they are from a specific number the phone gives off an alarm even in do-not-disturb mode.

This worked flawlessly for years now, but since the Android 11 Update the task is constantly killed after a few days.

I already got through the FAQ advises and dontkillmyapp instructions twice to make sure that NO power saving option is enabled on my Samsung phone.

But still the tasks are killed...

Don't know what to do next. The incoming SMS are alerts from our fire department and very important for me.

Did you make sure to check the new Android 11 instructions? It's so frustrating to go through this every time there's an update... 😭

When you say the "task is killed" how do you know that? Because it simply stops executing it? Does the Tasker monitor notification also go away when that happens? Thanks!

Normally there is a silent notifaction showing "Tasker: No profiles active (4 of 4 enabled)"

As long as this notifaction is visible the tasks work fine. But after some days it disappears and normally I only notice it after I've received and SMS and the task was not executed. It reappears by simply opening the app and close it again.

That totally matches the pattern of the app being killed :/ Sorry, I really don't know how else to help you... You don't have any extra app killing apps installed, do you?

Ok thank you! No, no other app installed.

So I will open the app once a day and hope for the best.

But it would be nice if this could be fixed...

I agree! Samsung should fix this ASAP! It's like they like giving devs headaches! 😅 Hope that works for you!
