I don't know if this is possible but figured someone here would know.

When I go to work I have Tasker setup to launch some various things when it connects to the Bluetooth connection in my car.  This works fine but I have to turn on the phone and unlock the screen for it to work since I can't view my navigation app with the screen off or locked.

I've seen some things using the Advanced App Settings (or whatever it's called) plugin that can change my PIN to just a swipe but I still have to turn it on and swipe the screen.

Is there any way to have a Task that will activate the phone's display and unlock it so when my apps run I can see them on the screen without having to do anything at all?  Basically I'd like to just pop my phone into my phone holder and when my car starts and the BT connects it would just take care of everything else for me.

Thanks!

The popup action has a "Show over keyguard" option that might work for you. There is also a plugin called "Keyguard" that might help. Since I upgraded to Lollipop, though, getting past the keyguard has been hit and miss. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.

Try the plugin autoinput, it has a unlock screen function in the beta app i think it is. I use it in my tasks, just be sure to add system lock at the end of the task.

Either I'm doing something wrong or the beta unlock screen function doesn't work on my Note 4.

It should just be a case of adding it to the task. Have if got in touch with the dev joao dias to see if its a none cause.

I took a look at it but couldn't get it figured out so I'm just not going to worry about it.  No big deal to just swipe may pattern when I get into the car.  :)

I had Smart Lock turned on and even though I was in a safe place and Android switched my lock screen to swipe, apparently it reports to AutoInput that a PIN lock is active. So, AutoInput doesn't even try to unlock it. Once I turned off Smart Lock, AutoInput screen unlock worked. However, even though it now unlocks the display something is re-locking it a few seconds later. I want to wake the device and bypass the swipe lock, which AutoInput Screen Unlock now does, but then stay on for whatever screen timeout I have set.

I got this to work consistently. Turns on the display and bypasses the swipe lock.

1. AutoInput (beta) Unlock Screen (must be swipe lock and not using Smart Lock)
2. Wait 1 or 2 seconds
3. Flash (not popup) something on the screen.
4. Do whatever other actions you want.
