Hi Guys,

Is there a way to setup a profile to enable Fast dharge during 10am and turn off at 11pm?

I have followed this guide but it doesn't work - https://www.google.co.uk/amp/s/www.xda-developers.com/how-to-automatically-toggle-samsung-adaptive-fast-charging-at-home/amp/ (I know this is for when connected to WiFi but I thought I would test it to see if it works but it doesn't 😭)

Any help would be appreciated

Thanks

Matt

This works on Samsung S9, using the latest Tasker:

    Profile: Fast Charge

        Time: From 10:00AM Till 11:00PM

    Enter:
    A1: Custom Setting
        Type: System
        Name: adaptive_fast_charging
        Value: 1
        Use Root: Off

    Exit:
    A1: Custom Setting
        Type: System
        Name: adaptive_fast_charging
        Value: 0
        Use Root: Off

Oh my god! Thanks so much Robert, didn't realise it was that simple - I needed to install the Tasker Settings app for it to work but it now works perfectly.

Thanks again, really appreciate it.

Hmmm I thought that it was working fine but it's seems as if it's not :(

If I run it manually it turns it on and off but when I leave it for Tasker it doesn't work.

I've got other Tasker profiles that are based on time and they require a stop action, do you think the same Willingdon to be done for this?

Thanks

Matt

Sounds to me like the profile isn't activating at the correct time. Do you have Use Reliable Alarms set to Always in the Tasker preferences?

I am not sure what you mean by adding a stop action. Can you post the exported description of a profile that requires this?

I have set this profile up and I 'think' it is working now but I will find out in a few hours...

Profile: Fast Charge Time (22)
Time: From 10:00 Till 23:00
Enter: StopTaskTime (19)
A1: Stop [ With Error:Off Task: ]

Profile: Main Profile (24)
State: Profile Active [ Name:Fast Charge Time ]
Enter: Enable Fast Charge (18)
A1: Custom Setting [ Type:System Name:adaptive_fast_charging Value:1 Use Root:Off Read Setting To: ]

Exit: Disable Fast Charge (20)
A1: Custom Setting [ Type:System Name:adaptive_fast_charging Value:0 Use Root:Off Read Setting To: ]

I'll keep you updated if it doesn't work.

Looks like the profile I dine has worked, not too sure why a 'stops' action is needed, I think someone explained it to me before when I got some help from here but that's was quite a while ago.

If for any reason it doesn't work tomorrow morning, I'll be in touch.

Thanks for all the help :)

Hi Guys,

Coming back to this, the profile I created seems to be a bit temperamental, sometimes it works but most of the time it doesn't.

Here's the tasks I have:

Enable Fast Charge (18)
A1: Custom Setting [ Type:System Name:adaptive_fast_charging Value:1 Use Root:Off Read Setting To: ]

Disable Fast Charge (20)
A1: Custom Setting [ Type:System Name:adaptive_fast_charging Value:0 Use Root:Off Read Setting To: ]

StopTaskTime (19)
A1: Stop [ With Error:Off Task: ]

And now the profiles:

Profile: Fast Charge Time (22)
Time: From 10:00 Till 23:00
Enter: StopTaskTime (19)
A1: Stop [ With Error:Off Task: ]

Profile: Main Profile (24)
State: Profile Active [ Name:Fast Charge Time ]
Enter: Enable Fast Charge (18)
A1: Custom Setting [ Type:System Name:adaptive_fast_charging Value:1 Use Root:Off Read Setting To: ]

Exit: Disable Fast Charge (20)
A1: Custom Setting [ Type:System Name:adaptive_fast_charging Value:0 Use Root:Off Read Setting To: ]

Should I be doing this a different way or is there something I have done wrong?

Thanks

Matt

The adaptive_fast_charging cannot be changed if the device is already plugged in. So, if you plug in the device st 9:45, it will not switch to slow charging at 10:00.

This isn't something Tasker can control. It is a device "safety feature".

Hi Robert,

Thanks for the response... I understand that it cannot be changed when charging but it doesn't seem to be switching fast charge on or off at the desired times.

It seems random when it does and doesn't.

Hi Guys,

Any ideas on what this seems to work when it wants to?

Thanks

Matt
