Now, an additional issue... is there a way to trigger this Navbar task only when my keyboard is showing? I'm using Swiftkey and the "Keyboard out" state doesn't do the job... I mean, it sometimes triggers it (not always) but switches back after a few seconds...
Yup, got it running with custom keys (Dpad left and right) and custom icons, thx for your effort.

Oh, sure, I know and I have used it, but they take additional valuable space (whole row) on the display. Besides that I only need left and right (up and down are kind of obsolete for me), so these two in the Navbar are perfect solution for my needs.Thx for your suggestion though :).

Maybe this helps? :)

Ok, trying to get this going. I can add the custom buttons but the action->input -> navigation bar only has 3 option left / center / right. How are you arranging your buttons?

Hm, not sure about adding it directly... but you can always create a task for changing keyboard and add a "Task button" for that task instead :).
Interesting...this will disappear with a reboot. And when I go to run the action again to remake the nav bar it runs without a issue but does not change the nav bar. I need to run the action "blank" then run the action with my changes..

If you select magnifying button and then the Task Button action, you should get a pop-up that asks you what task you want to select for double tap. Not sure about long press, I haven't gone that far yet!
Yes but how would I use that same button for a single tap with different actions?
When you select the Task Button, then select the task you want to run. Then it asks you if you want to add an action for a double tap. If you select yes, then you choose another task. It will then ask you for three taps.
However at the moment, with the Tasker version I have, it's going crazy 🤪 and not letting me tap without taking me to the lock screen right now so I can't test it!
Ahh, ok, got it... Working as expected over here....
Still hoping for a solution... :)
Unfortunately there's no way. Android itself tints them so even if they are colored, they'll just end up white anyway. Sorry!

About changing the color of the bar, on my S9+ it can be done with Custom Settings but I don't think there's a way to do it on all devices...
Hmm, maybe they're adding overlays in the navigation bar coordinates? Do you think that may be it?
Hmm, maybe they're adding overlays in the navigation bar coordinates? Do you think that may be it?I really have no idea. I did find some codes on stack overflow about changing the color of the navbar. I can't link them now but it was just a simple search for 'change color of navbar stackoverflow '. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Every app I have used to mod the nav bar has been an overlay. These apps typically require a persistent notification stating there is an overlay to work. I like a clean status bar so I never kept them.
Yes this app does have the overlay permission. It does not however have anything in the notification bar.
Actually I forgot I was looking at the wrong device. I really don't know if it is shown in the notification bar. That would be on a tablet at home..

Really? So there's a way to make it adaptive coloring? :P Wish I knew how!
