Hi all,

New'ish to Tasker and loving it. I need a little help/advice. I have
a profile named 'Work Night' which enables on work days only when the
phone is being charged at night. It's Exit Task (when I unplug the
charger in the morning) is to open the local traffic webpage so I can
see if I have to take a different route to work and switches on the
ringer all works ok.

The help I need is that I also use the phone as a backup alarm incase
I don't hear my watch but on Android the adds an unwanted (in my case
anyway) alarm icon to the status bar. I was trying to find a way in
Tasker to enable the alarm when the phone moves into the 'Work Night'
profile and disables it in the Exit Task, if all is well each morning
my watch woke me up so don't need the backup alarm to be enabled now.
I don't see a Tasker action for alarm though, is it possible to enable
and disable an alarm in the alarm list from Tasker?

Thanks!

You could make a new profile that will play a sound at a certain time
(also change the volume before that perhaps).
Then you could activate that profile when you enter your work night
mode and deactivate it in the exit task.
This way it won't fire when you are awake and unplug the charger.

But I am also new to tasker, so there might be a better way. :D

you might also try instead of an exit task, use the "power" context
(you can invert it too). Works every time on my phone.

I would use something like

Context:
Power (any)
Time is 6:00am
(both conditions must be met)

Action:
Notify > Sound (or Music Play)
browse URL

Use the Notification Click event or the action Popup Task Names. Then
use music stop action (if you use music play) and whatever else is
needed.

Thanks, I actually figured this out right after my post. This is great
now I can set location and have it go off at different times depending
on where i slept that night.
