It is almost impossible to find a new US phone to gain root to use Tasker. My old phone is getting so slow loading content just because there is more content to load and manage than when I first got it. I have been hesitant to dump it as a friend helped me configure Tasker with root to do the following. My question is, if my new phone cannot be rooted can it still do the above with a suite of AutoApps that don't require Tasker to be rooted. There are other actions but if they can do the below they probably can do others like turning on Wifi when I get home.

1. Unlock the phone with the display visible
2. Turn on Bluetooth
3. Wait for Bluetooth connection to my car
4. Open maps in driving mode
5. Say "complete"

6. Reverse the above and lock the phone

7. Repeat and rinse

Thanks

Thanks but "probably" did not invoke confidence that it would work. Would you or others have suggestions as to which AutoApp to start with? Thanks again.

Everything on that list I have done, except unlocking the phone. I've never had a need to do that in a task.

To unlock the phone without root, just use SecureTask plugin

Thank you. I will look into a way for Titanium Backup (TB) to do a full backup, unroot and test, then root back my existing phone to see if I can get it to emulate the activities without root. I am just not sure what options to use to do a full backup and restore without having to spend hours installing missed components, etc. Thanks again.
