Tasker won't change my volume

I have a Tasker profile set up to turn on Silent Mode when my Google
Calendar says I'm busy. The profile appears as follows:
Calendar Entry: Available No, (and it specifies my Calendar properly)
Silent Mode On

It's definitely triggering at the right time - Whenever I'm busy,
Tasker says it's running my profile, but it doesn't actually silence
the phone unless I manually change the volume.

Tasker is definitely capable of doing other things. I have another
profile that brings up a menu when I plug in my headphones and that
works just fine.

Any ideas on what's wrong? It's really a shame that this doesn't work,
because this is what made me buy the app!

I had some trouble with silent mode also and just set the system
volume to zero.

When the profile turns on silent mode, does the silent mode icon
appear in the notification bar?

When you put your phone in silent mode manually are all sounds off?
Sometimes when I put my phone in silent it still does not silence all
volumes for some reason. Like the other people suggest you may just
have to turn various volumes down in the task. A little more setup
time but still an automated solution!

By chance do you have separate call volume and notifications (Android
Settings -> Sound -> Volume) enabled?

I suspect when Tasker is setting silent it just changes the ringtone
volume to zero.. You will also need to turn off the notification
sounds as well..

No, that's not correct, it sets the ringer mode to vibrate or silent.

OP: is there an icon in the status bar ?

Are you setting silent mode to Vibrate or Silent ?

I've set it to both vibrate and silent, and neither work. I've tried
muting ringer & notifications individually by setting their volumes to
zero, but that doesn't work either. There's no icon in the status bar.
Thanks for the suggestions, though.

Mike,

I think the next step would be to capture a log for Pent.

If you havn't already could you put a Flash or Vibrate action before
and
after the Silent Mode action in the task, just to make sure it's
running ?

Thanks,

Pent
