to Tasker
Hi,

I have a Tasker routine that displays the current city I'm in as I'm driving, that someone wrote for me.

I recently noticed that, after my phone updated to Android 12, the popup with the city name no longer displays over the main foreground app like it used to.

I have checked the app permissions, etc.  I am a bit out of my element here.

If I run the Task from within Tasker, it does work.  Just doesn't display over my foreground app that I need open when I'm out driving anymore.

Anyone know an easy fix.  Please email me direct if you know the answer.

Thanks,
Viper

try this:
within the flash action check the box "Tasker Layout" and then the box "Show Over Everything".
I dont know if this will help, but you can try it. And nothing bad can happen ;)

Assuming Tasker is actually the app displaying the popup, you  should make sure Tasker had permission to "draw over other apps".  The One way to check that permission is in the Tasker app, 3-dot menu (at the top right) -> more -> Android Settings -> Draw Over Other Apps.  Maker sure Tasker is allowed.

It's possible this task was set up to use a plugin app to show your popup, in that case, the other app's permissions need to be checked.

If you need better than guesses, then posting the task will help.  You can export the description to your clipboard ready to paste into a post by long pressing on the task to highlight it, then 3-dot menu ->  Export -> Description to Clipboard -> Four Spaces option.
