So i have this app called torque which monitors data from my obdII adapter in my car. I have tasker open the app when i plug my headphone jack in (i always listen to music in the car). The problem is the exit task. On the exit task i have tasker quit the app as the last action and go home. I want it to quit the app becaus there is this anoying notification that pops up saying that the app is trying to connect to the obd adapter. This notifcation also means that the app is always runnin in tha background and that the bluetooth on my phone is on since i have the app turn on the bluetooth when it starts (the bluetooth on is an option included in the app, not a tasker task). Becasue of this i want to close the app to save bate and turn of bluetooth. However, TASKER WILL NEVER QUIT THE APP! No matter what i do in the exit task, tasker can never get the app to fully quit. What happens is literally nothing when the time comes for the app to quit. I have tried everything to get the damn app to quit. I first tried the built in tasker "close app" command. It would close the app, but then when it got to the homescreen the notification would reappear and then the app would be running again. I then tried to the tasker plugin autoinput and used that to tell autoinput to click the gear icon which opens the options and then click quit. I did this using an xy point option because the gear icon has no text and i dot know the id. Same thing happened, nothing. The menu would not open and the app would not quit. However something i did notice was if i was the one that clicked on the gear icon to oen the menu, auto input would then automatically click the quit option and the app would then close. But i had to go back to the app and click on the gear icon myself first. I tried using the root option of autoinput but for some reason that doesn't work on my phone. Finally i tried the tasker plugin taskkill and set it to extreme which is like going into your apps and clicking the force quite button. That doesnt work either. Still nothing. So what do i do? Can anyone tell me what i should do to fix this if there is a way? I am happy to provide more specifics if there is something i missed.

Hi

There is an intent you can send to kill torque:

org.prowl.torque.REQUEST_TORQUE_QUIT

However, I also have to send 2 shell commands to stop Torque from Re-running:

Run Shell:

pm.disable org.prowl.torque

(I have use root ticked, may not run without root.)

Then:

Run Shell:

pm enable org.prowl.torque
(Tick "use root")

Not sure if it works if you aren't rooted though.

I just used a tasker plugin called TaskKill.  Super effective and kills Torque.  I had the same issue until I got the plugin.  It now kills it flawlessly.
