Try a Wait action of a minute before the Say. If that helps, reduce the Wait time (in that case it might only need a second).

I presume you're not just testing the task with the Play button.

The problem?  The phone says 'Coming up: percent C A L T I T L E.'  I was hoping it would actually say the name of the calendar event.  Am I doing something wrong?

I wasn't using the play button - I create a calendar item with a reminder date of a few minutes from now, and then wait for the reminder to pop up.

Adding a wait with a minute doesn't change the phone saying 'percent C A L T I T L E'.

Other variables will read correctly, with or without a wait.  I can get the phone to tell me its battery percentage.  But not the calender title, description, or location.

Changed to NTITLE instead of CALTITLE, and that worked beautifully!
