Tasker Won't Recognize LTE

So I recently upgraded my device and I'm trying to get tasker all setup.

Running into a pretty serious issue though.  Tasker won't recognize that my device has an active mobile data connection when it's connected to LTE (4g elsewhere, ja?).  If I disable LTE and the device has a 3g or hspa+ connection tasker will recognize that mobile data is connected.

Any ideas?  Could this have something to do with the specific lte band my carrier uses in my area?

Thanks in advance for any assistance.  I need to figure this out as it breaks a lot of my tasks without this profile.

Hi there. Can you please try this version and see if that fixes it? Thanks in advance!

Thanks for your reply João.  Unfortunately it did not seem to help.

Any idea what could be causing this?

This is probably a silly thought... but might it have something to do with my device referring to it as LTE rather than 4g?  I'm going to guess that makes no difference.  The only other thing I can think of is that I modified a European firmware with the OEM sin file from the US firmware so that I could enable both the fingerprint reader (non-functioning on US firmware) and T-mobile US Vo-LTE and WiFi Calling (only works with US firmware).

Would love your help getting to the bottom of this and I'm happy to provide any assistance I can.

I'm attaching a couple screenshots.  First one is from my newer device, xperia xz1 compact (mix of UK and US firmware), and the other is from my old xperia x compact (UK or perhaps German firmware I think). As you can see, they are the same networks, they are just referred to differently on the individual devices.  Regardless of the cause, Tasker does recognize a mobile connection on the X Compact.

Ok, can you please try this version?

Enable Tasker logging to Internal Storage, switch to 4G and then send me the log via email so I can check :) Can you do that please? Thanks!

It looks like I got it to work.  I'm not sure what did it but I enabled every tasker permission, even those it wasn't asking for?  Will there be any negative effects (battery drain) in doing so?

Also should I still upgrade to the one in your link?

Thanks again.

I am going to release that one publicly today, so no need to upgrade :) Glad it's working now! More permissions should not imply more battery drain, no.

So for whatever reason Tasker still will not recognize LTE.  It may for a moment or two but then it goes away.  I was just sort of dealing with it at first since I am usually connected to WiFi but I can't ignore it any longer as it affects way too many of my profiles.

What can I do to figure out why this is occurring?

Can you provide the exported description of a profile that should recognize LTE, but doesn't?

Also, this is related in a way.

Sometimes when I turn off wifi, or go out of range, my device doesn't connect to mobile data.  It's turned on, but doesn't connect and the icon doesn't display in the notification bar.  I can turn off mobile data and re-enable it, but that does nothing.  The only thing that seems to work is turning on airplane mode and switching it off right away.  After the it connects immediately.

I don't think Tasker has anything to do with this issue, but it obviously causes issues with my tasker profiles from time to time.

Ah, I see what you mean. I think the Active parameter is backwards. I am currently connected to 4G, but the only way I can get the context to fire is to set Active to No or Any.

Have you tried this?

Here is the profile I used:

    Profile: 4G Test

        State: Mobile Network
        2G: Off
        3G: Off
        3G - HSPA: Off
        4G: On
        Active: No

    Enter:
    A1: Flash
        Text: 4G
        Long: Off

Wish that were the case, I'd simply reverse it.

Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.
