I cannot find the beginner mode checkmark thing in preferences for tasker 4.3b14.
The projects tabs are not showing at the bottom of the screen, the only thing im seeing is a search button, plus sign, and help button. No home icon.

However, when I drag a task/profile/scene by long tapping/dragging it on the right side, the projects tabs show up temporarily and I can move items into different projects. The only way I can access the projects tabs right now is through the search function in tasker, but it is very inconvenient. Prior to the update to the new tasker version 4.3b13 and 4.3b14, I can still see the projects tabs at the bottom and use as normal.

How can I fix this issue?

Press and hold the question mark.

Press and hold the + icon to toggle beginner mode on and off.

Note: Once Beginner mode is unchecked in the menu and the menu is exited, the beginner mode menu setting is no longer available even when beginner mode is enabled by using the + button. I have no idea why that is :-)

Hmm, confirmed.

Initially the menu preferences switch, entering preferences again reverts to advanced.

However, toggling beginner mode does toggle the menu preferences.

It's to prevent you exiting beginner mode if you have projects defined, because then you can't
access them.

Using + does not toggle beginner mode, it just toggles project visibility.

I wondered about that.

There have been a few occassions I have wanted to go back to beginner mode in order to replicate the conditions in order to help a new user. But that is the only time :)

I was getting quite a few 'lost my projects' queries, hence the change.

I didn't say that, I said 'toggles menu preferences' .

Thank you guys. I never would have figured it out. I have about 20 projects each with hundreds of tasks and profiles. So when the bar suddenly disappeared and the beginner mode checkbox in prefs did not work... man.
