Is there anyway to use tasker to respond to hangout messages automatically?

Notification Listener plugin can do it but it requires Lollipop and Android Wear installed (not needed a smartwatch just the app installed).

Auto notification does also.

I can only reply for Notification Listener, maybe Marta can give you suggestions for AutoNotification.

Profile: Event -> Notification Listener -> select Hangouts and event "posted"
Task: Notification Listener -> Auto Reply -> Key: %nlkey Message: "Hi! This is my auto reply!"
