On my Galaxy S5 running Android 5.0 under the Settings -> Sounds and notifications menu there is a 'Sound mode' option with 3 possible choices Sound / Vibrate / Mute. Is there a Tasker action that can control these settings, I have looked but there doesn't seem to be?

TIA.

Doug.

Lollipop changed things. Did you try the Interrupt Mode audio action?

Actually I don't have a Settings->Sounds and notifications->Interrupt mode option any more, following a recent (I believe Samsung devices only) firmware update it's been replaced by the Sound mode option. I still have the Tasker Interrupt mode action of course but that doesn't seem to give me the full Mute option that I am looking for.

What I'm trying to do is get a full mute situation (all volume levels to 0 AND no vibrate action at all). I can't seem to achieve this - when I bring the ringer volume to 0 the phone switches on vibrate automatically and (from Tasker) I can't figure out how to stop this. The 'new' 'Sound mode' Mute option does this very nicely but I think there is no Tasker action that corresponds to it...?

I'll try some further testing with Tasker's Interrupt mode action in case I've missed something.

Thanks.

I use "Do not disturb" (formally called "Blocking" on my Note 4) for total silence except for phone calls and alarms at night. If setting the schedule option doesn't work for you, then you could use AutoInput to turn Do not disturb mode on and off when needed. The drawback is that you need to turn on the display for AutoInput to work. I use a popup or Secure Settings for that.

Thanks, as you say the disadvantage with 'Do not disturb' is that I can't control it directly from Tasker. I've found that although the Interrupt mode has gone from my Android settings the Tasker Interrupt mode action still works fine, and setting Interrupt none combined with reducing all the VOLx settings to 0 gives a full mute with no vibrate (I still get the Android vibrate icon notification but I can live with that).

Thanks for the help.
