Since a couple of days the changes for screen brightness is not working anymore.
Auto brightness is off, and lock and unlock the phone and the correct brightness is set.
In the notification bar, the changed value is shown correctly.

When I search on google I find similar issues but these are a couple of years old.

What is the task/profile?

To export a profile as description:

1) Disable beginner mode.
Go to menu > preferences > UI tab > Beginner mode and uncheck it.

2) A profile must be named to export
Long press on the profile that you want to name and a menu bar should appear at the top of the screen.
Select the "A" icon to open a dialog to name the profile.
Note: You can change tasker's profile creation sequence to request a profile name when creating a profile with:
menu > preferences > UI > scroll down to Main Screen section and find 'Ask For New Profile Name' and check it.

3) Post the Tasker description of the profile or task that you are having trouble with.
To do that you long press on the profile name (or task name) and then go to menu > export > description to clipboard (don't select export XML). Then paste the clipboard contexts into a post.

That appears to be just the task.
What triggers the task?

Does having the screen turn off/on resolve the issue?

What about a reboot?

Sorry, more information for you.

Yes this is only a task. It is activated by a shortcut from the homescreen, or a sidebar plus item.
The notification i raise has a clickable to a profile, but that only activate the task "Screen restore" which has a cancel notification and a Screen Brightness to 30%
It's a simular task like the 60% task.

Yes, when i turn off the screen and on, the correct brightness is set.
No a reboot doesn't resolve this issue.

I like to have preset settings i created with Tasker on which i can see in the notification that the preset is active. So i know when to restore it.

All tasks and profiles following...

Try maybe with toggling the other options, i.e. immediate effect, ignore current level, disable safeguard (carefully!), etc.

Otherwise I think this is another android issue Pent has been forced to contend with.

Did you recently root? Or, switch roms or anything? Maybe even get an OTA update?

This is a little unclear..

> Since a couple of days the changes for screen brightness is not working
anymore.

You mean tasker can not set brightness at all, or just in this task?  Did you try menu / more /run a action to see if it can set brightness that way?

> In the notification bar, the changed value is shown correctly.

Do you mean that after the task runs the brightness does not change but the value in the notification bar shows what tasker set it at?

no also with run a action it is not working
in the notifcation bar I see the value changed in the display brightness setting. But the display itself is not changed.
When I manually tick the brightness bar, it is changing on the display and it is getting brighter.
