Not sure where the menu button went. Using an evo 4g lte with Jelllybean.
I'm not sure if it disappeared when updating to Jelllybean, or when I added project tabs to the top of the screen. I don't see the menu at the top or the bottom of the screen. Kinda in a bind now because I am unable to save newly created profiles.

Swipe down from the profiles/tasks/scenes/variables bar to show the Projects bar.
Make sure Beginner Mode is disabled.

That shows me my projects tabs. I am trying to find the menu button so I can backup data, restore data, etc.

Yeah, that's device specific and in no way related to Tasker...
I'm not sure if your device uses on screen buttons or hardware buttons (that light up when you touch them): it's one of them...

Right on. It uses on screen buttons which used to be on the bottom. Weird that it's just gone now.

I'd advise you check your device's system settings, or whatever is usually used to configure that.
I have no idea how it works, but I assume it uses a service that you might have killed, unless you uninstalled the app altogether using root rights.

Does it only happen in Tasker? I'm assuming it happens everywhere but your description doesn't make it clear.

I thought the same thing and already checked other apps. Thought I maybe did something in the settings. But all other apps have the menu button. I thought about uninstalling and reinstalling but am afraid that I would lose the new profiles that I set up.

Do you have root?  You can simulate the menu button with a Tasker action (wouldn't that be a funny workaround!).  Make your own scene and display it as a blocking overlay in the bottom corner or somewhere out of the way and have its only action be a tap that does the Tasker menu button action (in the Input category).  Actually, you can probably do this even easier without a scene.  Make a new task with a 2 second wait, and then Input -> Button -> Menu.  Press the play button on the new task and then quickly close the task edit screen (bringing you back to the main Tasker screen).  Once the wait expires, it should show the menu.

I feel like such a schmuck! On the bottom of the phone I have a back button, home button, and recent apps button. I tried the recent apps button and found the menu option. Hmm... I have some more learning to do with the new Jellybean update.

The next version of Tasker targets a higher SDK version so you will
see an overflow menu item in the action bar.
