After a server farm administrator has upgraded the databases, site collection administrators can upgrade individual site collections. When site collection administrators first browse to their sites after the database has been upgraded, a notification bar at the top of the site indicates that their sites can be upgraded. The choices are to Start now or Remind me later. Start now begins the site collection upgrade process.

This article discusses the second and third steps, and includes procedures for performing these tasks from Site Settings. For information about using Microsoft PowerShell cmdlets to upgrade sites from the command line, see Manage site collection upgrades (SharePoint 2013 Products).

For a visual overview of the upgrade process, including site collection upgrade, see Overview of the upgrade process from SharePoint 2010 to SharePoint 2013. For more information about how farm administrators can control site collection upgrades, see Manage site collection upgrades to SharePoint 2013. For more conceptual information about site upgrade, including how to plan for upgrade, see Plan for site collection upgrades in SharePoint 2013.

If you upgrade from SharePoint Server 2010 to SharePoint 2013, there are special considerations for My Sites. (My Sites are not available in SharePoint Foundation 2013.) Make sure that you upgrade the My Site Host site collection before you allow users to access their individual My Sites in SharePoint 2013. This makes sure that the server software and database changes are complete so that users can upgrade their individual My Sites successfully. > A user can upgrade his or her My Site by following the steps to upgrade a site collection later in this article, or a farm administrator can upgrade My Sites by using PowerShell. >

As a site collection administrator, you can request a preview of your site collection; this is called an upgrade evaluation site collection. An upgrade evaluation site collection enables you to see your site's content in a new, separate copy of the site that is running on the SharePoint 2013. Unlike visual upgrade in SharePoint Server 2010, the upgrade evaluation site collection is a complete copy of the site collection, separate from the original. Actions that you take in the upgrade evaluation do not affect the original site.

When you request an evaluation site collection, the request is added to a Timer job (named "Create Upgrade Evaluation Site Collections") which runs once a day. You will receive an e-mail message when the upgrade evaluation site is available. This might take up to 24 hours. The message includes a link to the evaluation site. Upgrade evaluation site collections are set to automatically expire (after 30 days by default). If yours expires before you have finished evaluating the changes, you can request another upgrade evaluation site collection.

You will receive an e-mail message when the upgrade evaluation is available. The e-mail message will contain a link to the site collection. Review the site and confirm that your site collection will look and behave as expected in the new user interface.

You cannot upgrade FAST Search Center sites to the 2013 experience. Existing FAST Search Center sites can continue to work in 2010 mode after upgrade. If you want the new functionality, you must create new enterprise Search Center sites in 2013 mode. > To enable users to preview Word or PowerPoint search results in a SharePoint 2013 Search Center, do each of the following: > Before you upgrade content site collections, upgrade the SharePoint Server 2010 enterprise Search Center site collection to 2013 mode. > Ensure that SharePoint 2013 is configured to use Office Online. For more information, see Deploy Office Web Apps Server and Configure SharePoint 2013 to use Office Web Apps.

The site collection health checks are run automatically in repair mode before the upgrade starts. The results from the health checks are included in the upgrade log for the site collection. If there is an error, you must address it before you can continue to upgrade.

The upgrade starts, and the Upgrade status page for the site collection is displayed. This page automatically updates while the upgrade is in progress and displays information about the process, such as the following:

Background Information
The Office for Civil Rights (OCR) collected data about key education and civil rights issues for the 2013-14 school year from virtually every public school in the country through the Civil Rights Data Collection (CRDC).

The CRDC collects a variety of information including student enrollment and educational programs and services, most of which is disaggregated by race/ethnicity, sex, limited English proficiency, and disability. For more general information about the CRDC (including past and future collections), visit the CRDC home page.

Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana used the golden mosaics of Sicily's Cathedral of Monreale as a starting point for their new Fall collection. They presumably made that design decision months ago: As they put it in their press notes, "the art of mosaic-making is a slow and precise one." They never could've known that, in the wake of Pope Benedict XVI's resignation and in the days leading up to the conclave to elect his successor, new shadows would fall on the Church. Amidst headlines in Italian papers this week about sexual intrigue in the Vatican, Dolce & Gabbana sent out a dozen dresses printed with Monreale's famous Byzantine and Venetian mosaics, and just as many lacy frocks in cardinal red. For jewelry, rosaries.

Indeed this is a known issue from Microsoft. The only way to fix this is to restore backup of your site overriding locked site collection. This way the flag that is set to read only will be free by restore process and the site collection will be available again

Description: The Web-based ISS monitored National Collegiate Athletic Association-sanctioned practices and competitions, the number of participating student-athletes, and time-loss injuries during the preseason, regular season, and postseason in 25 collegiate sports. Starting in the 2009-2010 academic year, non-time-loss injuries were also tracked. Efforts were made to better integrate ISS data collection into the workflow of collegiate athletic trainers. Data for the 2004-2005 to 2013-2014 academic years are available to researchers through a standardized application process available at the Datalys Center Web site.

Background Information
Since 1968, the U.S. Department of Education (ED) has conducted the Civil Rights Data Collection (CRDC) to collect data on key education and civil rights issues in our nation's public schools. ED formerly administered the collection as the Elementary and Secondary School Civil Rights Survey.

The CRDC gathers a variety of information including student enrollment and student access to educational programs and services, most of which is disaggregated by race or ethnicity, sex, English learner, and disability. The CRDC is a longstanding and important aspect of the ED Office for Civil Rights (OCR) overall strategy for administering and enforcing the civil rights laws for which OCR is responsible. Information collected by the CRDC is also used by other ED offices as well as policymakers and researchers outside of ED.

For further general information about the CRDC, visit the CRDC FAQ page.

We present the Koblenz Network Collection (KONECT), a project to collect network datasets in the areas of web science, network science and related areas, as well as provide tools for their analysis. In the cited areas, a surprisingly large number of very heterogeneous data can be modeled as networks and consequently, a unified representation of networks can be used to gain insight into many kinds of problems. Due to the emergence of the World Wide Web in the last decades many such datasets are now openly available. The KONECT project thus has the goal of collecting many diverse network datasets from the Web, and providing a way for their systematic study. The main parts of KONECT are (1) a collection of over 160 network datasets, consisting of directed, undirected, unipartite, bipartite, weighted, unweighted, signed and temporal networks collected from the Web, (2) a Matlab toolbox for network analysis and (3) a website giving a compact overview the various computed statistics and plots. In this paper, we describe KONECT's taxonomy of networks datasets, give an overview of the datasets included, review the supported statistics and plots, and briefly discuss KONECT's role in the area of web science and network science.

This book spans the years 2012 and 2013, and includes all of his drawings, as well as large production for shows and exhibitions (such as 5 x 1 m) and small sketches on envelopes or paper napkins. The book comes with an A2 poster and cardboard transport protection.

A SharePoint site collection administrator can view and restore deleted items from the site collection Recycle Bin to their original locations. If an item is deleted from the site collection Recycle Bin, or it exceeds the retention time, it is permanently deleted.

In SharePoint in Microsoft 365, items are retained for 93 days from the time you delete them from their original location. They stay in the site Recycle Bin the entire time, unless someone deletes them from there or empties that Recycle Bin. In that case, the items go to the site collection Recycle Bin, where they stay for the remainder of the 93 days unless:

The site Recycle Bin storage counts against your site collection storage quota and the List View Threshold. The amount of space allocated to the site collection Recycle Bin is 200% of the site collection quota. These values are not configurable.
