I tried varying the color depth (there is no 24-bit listed?) and the timing dropdown with nothing working. If I reduce the refresh to 30Hz with 16-bit color it lets me add the custom resolution, but even that took... I don't know: waiting? twiddling lots of controls? Several minutes before it showed up as an option.

If I look at the Screen Resolution... > Advanced Settings, it says "Intel(R) HD Graphics 4600". Then I click [List All Modes] it says that 1920x1080@60Hz@TrueColor is the maximum it supports!? Also says:

Just to clear things up: Meanwhile I found the solution: The Intel HD4600 isn't the issue, for all I know it can output 4K just fine via HDMi (but not via DVI). However the Dell U2713HM will only accept resolutions of up to 1080p via HDMi, for larger resolutions like the native 2560 x 1440 you'll need to use DVI or DisplayPort. This is of course a problem with the output specifications of my mini ITX Board, which is why I went for a small dedicated Geforce GPU which gives me 2560 x 1440 via DVI just fine. It's kind of a sad state though - my Gigabyte board has 2 HDMI and 1 DVI out and all of them are useless - at least with this very Dell display. And don't bother with Pre-Haswell boards either, I was shocked to learn that larger than 1080p is quite a new thing for onboard GPUs.

But even with DP cable I have a problem. My Dell U2713HM don't go on stand-by. The screen is black, but not off, the led from the display and audio (AX510) are on. I think this could be a driver problem.

Same issue here although I was able to get 2560 x 1440 @ 40Hz, 32 bit, CVT-RB to work using CustomModeApp.exe. It would be nice if it would just work without the hack though. I can't change the color depth at all even using the custom tool.

Hi guys, at this point, I would appreciate if you guys can post your graphics report here. Please make sure you have the latest bios and drivers in your computer. Also make sure the monitor drivers are installed.

BIOS is the one thing I haven't checked. The other drivers were updated using the Intel download center/driver status tool. It is saying that the Intel Audio driver is not recognized and I am not getting audio via HDMI at this point. There is no published driver for my Monoprice monitor.

Can you also confirm if the configuration you have is extended or clone? If you are using clone the max resolution you will get is 1920 by 1080 based on your monitor specifications. Can you also try the system with the monitor that supports 2560 by 1440 (60 Hz) in single mode?
