I'm having an issue with Revit 2016, two computers have the Create New Local greyed out, while three other computers are fine. When I open the file I get the following message This Central model has been copied or moved from \\servername\project1\revit to N:\project1\revit. I followed the instructions in this link -is-create-new-local-grayed-out.html and it fixed the problem. 3 users could create new local and then sync. The next day after the affected user came back from lunch he had the same issue where the Create New Local was greyed out when opening the same file. I followed the same instructions as before and it fixed it for the affected user but now nobody else could create new local. Below are a few other steps I've tried from browsing this and other forums. Any other suggestions? Thanks

I tried that with the same results, the initial PC can open it with Create New Local but the other PC's can't. I tried this procedure on the PC that is having issues as well as the two other PC's that can work both create a new local.

Its not so big problem. This problem is caused by limited access ID to the central file. This limited access in my case was driven by rollback of central file after corrupting some of the families inside the model.

I just set up a brand new PC, and I am experiencing the same issue on the new PC when User A is logged in but not User B. Both users are in the same Domain Users group. No Home Folder configured. There are no Group Policies configured on the domain. All suers are in the same OU in Active Directory. Folder where the Revit file is, has not restrictions and is shared to Domain Users (I even manually added User A manually and gave him full control). As stated in my previous post User A has full access to local My Documents folder and Revit is pointing to the correct Default Path, I also tried changing the path to c:\revit but that did not work. Can anyone offer any suggestions? Thanks again.

This is the same location on your network. One mapped by domain second by IP address. But this won't work
For revit It is not the same. He checks also path to mapped letter - diffrences cause problems.

2. **MOST COMMON REASON** The PATH in which the central model created is different for the user who created that central model than yours. Meaning: User who made the central model saved it to a path (for example) P:\projects while in YOUR computer the P: drive is mapped to something else, or not mapped at all, OR, you have the correct P: mapped BUT you are using a UNC path (using the \\ symbols) to navigate the network instead of using the P: path.

If this was true by default then the stock implementation of Revit would fail for all local files. It is Autodesk's default location for local files. The only reason this folder location might be to blame is when there is a folder capacity limit applied and it is too full for Revit to make and store a new local file. That's true of any folder however.

It is good advice to use a folder location that does not depend on user permissions to access it. When a user does not relinquish elements properly and is not available to reconcile it another user can access their local file if it is stored in a neutral folder like C:\Revit Local Files. If that other user can access their local they can log on and open their local with that user's Revit username and synchronize with central. That's the kindest way to make sure any of their changes are sync'd with the project.

A couple more reasons the Create New Local option is disabled: The file does not have worksets enabled or the file is based on an older version of Revit than currently being used (meaning an upgrade is required). Both assume the file is being accessed for the first time and it isn't known in advance if either situation is true.

Autodesk Vault 2025 is here with enhancements to help you accelerate your overall design creation and data management experience. Vault subscribers can start taking advantage of the new functionality right away. This release of Vault delivers enhancements you and the Vault user community requested.

As an administrator, you can now enforce a password policy to prevent unauthorized access and protect against potential security breaches. Administrators can require users to create passwords that meet specific criteria, such as a minimum length, a combination of uppercase and lowercase letters, numbers, and special characters.

If the administrator enforces a password policy and the current password fails to meet the set requirements, the system will prompt end users to reset their password on their next login. Thin Client users must log in through the Thick Client or contact administrators to change the password.

Like purging file/item versions, administrators and project administrators can now purge all content files within a selected project. This helps to save the time and effort required to manually choose and purge each file individually. For more information, see Purge Folders.

This release of Vault adds support for new backup features to our scheduled backup functionality. These enhancements include backing up databases only, selecting vaults and libraries for backup, and skipping file store validation during backups. For more information, see Schedule a Vault Backup.

Copy Design is one of the most powerful features of Autodesk Vault. Engineers are leveraging existing designs by reusing them to save design time or by copying and updating an existing design to reduce design time. Besides the reduced modeling time, design reuse impacts the cost and time savings in downstream engineering, manufacturing, and purchasing.

"Almost a year ago we introduced Autodesk Construction Cloud, sharing our vision for the most powerful and complete portfolio of construction management products. The new products we announced today represent a huge milestone for connected construction, with Autodesk Build providing an entirely new approach to project management," said Jim Lynch, vice president and general manager of Autodesk Construction Solutions. "We're continuing to deliver on our promise of helping builders across the world catalyze their digital transformation and make construction more predictable, safe and sustainable."

"The continuous and fluid flow of data is the backbone of our teams' success, with our healthcare projects in particular requiring tremendous scrutiny in inspections and documentation," said Amy Kozlowski, project manager at Herrero Builders. "Autodesk Construction Cloud delivers a unified platform where data and information are centralized. We can immediately get new design details into the hands of preconstruction and construction teams, proactively make adjustments in the field and better understand the health of our project portfolio. With Autodesk Build, we will be able to connect critical field and project management workflows, powering seamless collaboration across locations and devices. Just as importantly, the new products are intuitive and simple to use. Autodesk inherently understands the construction industry and provides technology that fuels success across the entire building lifecycle."

Powerful construction management for the entire building lifecycle from a single platform
Autodesk's new construction management products will connect construction teams, data and workflows across the headquarters, office and jobsite. Available in early 2021, initially offered products include:

Autodesk Build
Autodesk Build delivers a connected set of field execution and project management tools for builders in a single platform that is easy to deploy, adopt and use, while ensuring information sharing and workflows are performed in a tightly-controlled and highly-configurable environment.

By capitalizing on best-in-class features of BIM 360 and PlanGrid while also delivering new functionality, Autodesk Build is integrated with data from all other construction workflows so teams can handle workflows such as project management, quality, safety, cost and project closeout with a single log-in. Autodesk Build establishes a single source of truth for the entire team to minimize miscommunication and mitigate project risk, while standardized data collection for every project enables leaders to make data-driven decisions.

Autodesk Build also enables real-time collaboration between teams in the field and the office with the PlanGrid Build mobile app. With capabilities such RFI creation and issue tracking, and up-to-date drawings and markups, PlanGrid Build ensures changes are immediately available to reduce miscommunication, errors and rework.
