Only All Black Jerome Kaino can run down Welsh powerhouse Toby Faletau as our Rugby World Cup player of the tournament with two games to play.
The impressive Faletau has received comfortably the most votes from RugbyHeaven journalists over the first six weeks of the tournament.
Every match sees the top five players given points, with five going to the player of the match.
Tongan-born newcomer Faletau, who shifts from No 8 to the openside flank for tomorrow night's bronze playoff against the Wallabies, has been a revelation, being adjudged man of the match in three games, including their semifinal loss to France.
He needs just one point tomorrow to guarantee himself the top slot.
If he doesn't, his 19 points can be matched by All Blacks hard man Jerome Kaino, who is second on 14 points.
Kaino, who is one of six nominees for the IRB world player of the year, is overwhelmingly regarded as the best New Zealand player at the tournament going off a poll on our website today.
By early afternoon the powerful flanker had received just under half the 7625 votes. His 3763 votes was well clear of halfback Piri Weepu (1132), fullback Israel Dagg (776), centre Ma'a Nonu (545) and wing Cory Jane (512).
Leading players:
19 - Toby Faletau (Wales)
14 - Jerome Kaino (NZ)
13 - Schalk Burger (South Africa), Sergio Parisse (Italy)
12 - Jamie Roberts (Wales) 12, Paul O'Connell (Ireland), Mamuka Gorgodze (Georgia)
11 - Sean O'Brien (Ireland)
10 - Felipe Contepomi (Argentina)
9 - Richard Kahui (NZ), George Stowers (Samoa), Lucas Gonzales Amorosino (Argentina)
8 - David Pocock (Australia), Kurtley Beale (Australia), Mike Ross (Ireland), Cian Healy (Ireland), Juan Manuel Leguizamon (Argentina), Aaron Carpenter (Canada)
