Rui Li

Self-Driving Delivery Robots

Rui Li is Co-Founder and CEO of Robby Technologies,
a Palo Alto-based startup building self-driving robots
to deliver food, groceries, and packages autonomously
to users' doorsteps. Rui received his Ph.D. from MIT
in 2015 at the Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence
Laboratory (CSAIL) in areas of computer vision, machine
learning and robotics. Robby Technologies was selected
into Y Combinator (YC) program in summer 2016, a top
startup accelerator program in Mountain View with alum
companies like Airbnb, Dropbox, DoorDash and Instacart.

Delivery robots are currently allowed in Redwood City,
Sunnyvale and many other cities and states, and under
consideration by the city of Mountain View. Rui will
give an overview of their self-driving delivery robots,
discuss some of the issues that must be addressed to be
successful in this very publicly visible business, and
describe what it has been like to participate in a YC
program.
