Exciting PhD Scholarship Opportunity -
Environmental Education, Environmentality and Environmentalism in Indonesia

Are you interested in conducting fieldwork-based research on environmental education and environmentalism with young people and activists in Indonesia for your PhD?

A new ARC Discovery Project on "Fostering Pro-Environment Consciousness and Practice: Environmentalism, Environmentality and Environmental Education in Indonesia" comes with generous funding for one PhD scholarship for a candidate with at least Upper Second Class Honours or equivalent in Indonesian Studies, Anthropology, Education or related fields. The candidate will work with experienced supervisors - Prof Lyn Parker and Dr Greg Acciaioli at UWA - and be a member of a research team of five senior academics.

The scholar will undertake extended fieldwork with students and activists in schools and NGOs in Indonesia.

This scholarship is for 3 years, with a possible 6-month extension (subject to satisfactory progress). It will be called the Ad Hoc PhD Scholarship on Environmental Education in Indonesia at UWA.

Eligibility

Applicants must be Australian Citizens or Permanent Residents, or New Zealand citizens, who have (or expect to receive) at least Upper Second Class Honours degree or equivalent and are acceptable for candidature in the PhD at The University of Western Australia.

Stipend
The Scholarship will have a living allowance of $28,153 p.a. (full-time, 2013 rate). The award is tax exempt and indexed annually.
Fieldwork will be generously supported.
