Hi all,
There is a heap going on at the moment for this years Lea Extreme Race. Dangerous wood has been removed from the river, the Tasmanian Canoe Club grounds at the Forth Slalom Course have been cleaned up for the party, and the weather is looking favourable for great flows at this years event.
First of all, if you haven't entered, do so ASAP! Why?, because entering before Monday the 19th of September entitles you to a free coffee the weekend of the race at Cradle Forrest Inn, a Sea to Summit Drybag, and a Sea to Summit Duffel. So get onto it, if you want the coffee and the Sea to Summit gear we need your entry form by the Monday the 19th! You can enter on the Lea Extreme Race Facebook page or on the Tas Canoe Club Website (links at the bottom). You WILL NOT receive the goodies (valued more than the price of entry) unless you have signed up by the 19th!
Entry is $70 and includes a social ticket. Non AC members will need to pay an extra $10 for insurance.
Thanks to Kayak4play, once you have entered you will be eligible for 10% off anything on the the Kayak4play webstore, but you must have entered to receive this discount! Use the code LEARACE2016 at checkout.
As many of you may have seen on our Facebook page, this year Firth Outdoor are giving away $200 CASH for the best dressed on river. So get creative with your costume, just make sure its safe for paddling class 4 white water. There has been some great costumes in the past and we are looking forward to seeing what you can come up with this year.
The after party and presentations will be once again held at the Tasmanian Canoe Club on the Forth River. The night includes live music, BBQ/spit-roast, and camping. Social tickets for non competitors are $20 and can be paid directly to the Tas Canoe Club, see race entry for payment details. In the interest of the environment we ask that you BYO plate and cutlery. The event is BYO drinks.
We have some fantastic sponsors this year and would like to thank all of them for getting on board with Prizes and support for this years event. Without the support of all of these businesses the Lea Extreme Race would not go ahead. In no particular order, the Tasmanian Canoe Club would like to thank;
