Alum cliffs section of Mersey river

Hi paddlers

Thanks to Dave Chiam and crew for getting some first hand info on this section after the big floods. 

Good news - no strainers, serious rock blockages or log jams. The usual portage in the gorge is  still required. 

The river bed seems to be wider and flatter after the huge volume of water. 

Bad news - Kelly Cage bridge at get out is gone. Also Dynans bridge is gone - so a shuttle to the top needs to take you back to Kimberly then to Union bridge. 
It's an excellent and scenic trip. Do it whilst there's water!
