Sad news – well known Tasmanian paddler, James Thorp, originally of the Tasmanian Canoe Club, but who paddled big water all over the world, has been critically injured in a car crash near Roseburg, Oregon in the USA.

According to news reports his wife, Taylor Nieri, sadly died in the accident which was apparently caused by a tyre blowout.

Canoe Tasmania extends its condolences to family and friends of Taylor and especially to Thorpie – and we hope you make a full recovery.
