TARRACE Update Days 5 and 6 (10 and 11 December 2008)
Today we arrived safely in Monrovia, Liberia about 12 hours behind
schedule after another overnight back-country road movement over some
of the worse road yet (from Kenema to Gendema, Sierra, Leone).
We received a warm African welcome from Mr. James Tarpeh, Executive
Director of The Global Children Foundation (formerly The War Affected
Youth of Monrovia), a local NGO here in Liberia concerned with
fostering community development and building capacity with young
people and children.
We will meet with some Liberian physicians this afternoon and then
attempt to get back on schedule by departing tonight for Abidjan, Cote
d’Ivoire.
We will keep you posted.
