to TARRACE
It is currently 02:15 Greenwich Mean Time on Wed 10 December, 2008 and
I am writing to you from a 24-hr internet cafe at Lumley Beach,
Freetown, Sierra Leone.
Yesterday (Tuesday 9 December) we arrived on schedule in Freetown at
about 9:10pm GMT to an interview with representives from Sierra Leone
SKYY radio and SLBS TV with The Sckle Cell Society of Sierra Leone.
Discussed The TARRACE and Sickle Cell Anemia activities.
We left Bissau, Guniea-Bissau in the AM on Monday 8 December for a
grueling overnight journey to Guinea, Conakry arriving there in the
morning of Tuesday 9 December after numberous check-points and
searches, covering what could possibly have been a 3-day journey in
about 24 hours.
We elected to leave Conakry right away to stay on schedule and arrived
in Freetown, Sierra Leone on Tuesday 9 December for the above
meeting.
