1.5T and 3T MRS

Dear friends/colleagues,

I would like to hear your comments about combining MRS results scanned on GE 1.5T and Philips 3T.  I know that there are so many variables between manufactures and field strengths (etc) but it is a pity to loose important info for this study (if any, this is a longitudinal study over 8 years of data collection of very large cohort). The VOI placement for the two field strengths is the same. 

This is what I have in mind:

1). correct for T1 and T2 

2).  only metabolite ratio 

3). correct for gray-white matter within the VOI.

Appreciate any comments.

Hi Pom,

You could use a statistical normalization approach such as Z-scoring or ComBat (https://doi.org/10.1101/2021.08.04.455132) to deal with the value discrepancies.
