This Saturday’s trail promises to be a great one, starting and ending at Southern Community Park in Chapel Hill. Durham folks—please allow a little extra travel time getting there.
Directions are provided in multiple formats (coordinates, links, and a few old-fashioned directions), so use whatever works best for you. The On-After will be at a separate location, with directions included below.
Attachments include:
· An aerial view of the park to help locate the exact meetup spot
· A map from the park to the hare’s abode (site of the Après)
· This year’s hare schedule and next year’s signup sheet
Big Box and Jerkules have already stepped up to hare in January—so let’s start looking ahead… 2027 will be here before we know it!

WORDZ FROM DA HAREZ:
Just Thomas says: From the starting point at the park, trail will be A-to-A, with plenty of parking by "Southern Village" Community Park, and our meetup location has water and bathrooms. We’ll meet up at 5, and pack off around 5:25.
Trail will have a Turkey-Eagle split, along with features you might expect: there will be some neighborhoods, some natural paths, some off-trail, and more.
He adds: I will sweep until we reach the Turkey-Eagle split; cohares might help with that, too. Turkey will be 3.5-4 miles, and the Eagle will be 5-6, unless people get lost, which would add some distance. (So – look carefully and follow the marks!) If lost: make your way to the Fan Branch Greenway for an easy return to the parking area.
After trail, regroup at:
15005 Barnhardt Ct for refreshments
There is street parking – just don’t block driveways.
THINGS TO REMEMBER:
Please try to be prompt! We’ll wait a while (as mentioned above), but note the pack-off time.
2 Bring a “B-Bag” (even though trail is A to A), with whatever extras needed, like repellent and sunscreen. And dry clothes for the On-Afte
LOST?: Call the hare Just Thomas - at 336-254-4029.
