Greetings, fellow hashers! Attached is the latest version of this year’s schedule! A couple updates to keep in mind:
📅 The October hash has shifted to the 18th, so mark your calendars.
🎉 And good news—we’ve added a mid-November hash to the mix!
Last but certainly not least: we have asked another hare to help out, and appreciate his willingness to toss flour with us (marking trail will be more fun than baking cookies, for sure).
The schedule reflects all of these changes.
Reminder: Tarheel Hash #688 – First of the Fall, aka The Eno Aftermath (Ask Chantal)
We extend invitations to The Sir Walter's and Carolina Larrikins H3 to make this a minglefest.
Hares: Mr. Cream Jeans, SpeakNoEno, and Lickety Spit
Date/Time: Saturday, September 27th, Meetup at 3 pm
Meeting place: At the hares’ abode
512 Wanda Ridge Dr, Durham, NC 27712
Note: Parking is not permitted on our street.
Directions to Parking Location:
Park on Wildwood Dr, the street parallel to Wanda Ridge.
Coordinates: 36.073371, -78.921164
Open the link below for directions to the parking area:
When the map opens, enter your starting location in the field labeled “Choose starting point.”
The map shows #512 Wanda Ridge Dr. (south of Wildwood) marked by the blue house icon.
After Parking:
Walk east on Wildwood until you reach Lochaven Drive, then turn RIGHT. From the corner of Lochaven and Wanda Ridge, our house is the fourth on the right. Look for a white mailbox with green leaves painted on it, and white house numbers beside the front door.
Note to first-timers: Wanda Ridge is the street farthest back from the neighborhood’s entrance(s).
Dogs: They’ll need to sit this one out at home. The neighbor cats sometimes visit our backyard—and we like having them over.
Walkers: Absolutely welcome!
But, we strongly recommend bringing a GPS with our address saved.
Please use the buddy system with other walkers and, if the pack takes off without you, stay with the sweeper.
We won’t be responsible for hashers who wander off-course.
Wordz from da Hares: Expect a mix of residential charm and shiggiful surroundings.
Look for flour rubbed into textured tree bark, logs, and other sneaky spots. Recommended: long pants – socks – to protect legs and feet from beasties lurking in the shiggy.
Beer Break? Of course!
Refreshments afterward? Sure thing!
We’re telling everyone to BYOB, but we will have Food, goodies, and plenty of fun at the minglefest as our local kennel members get better acquainted.
Things to Remember:
●Be prompt! We aim to start soon after the meetup time: maximum delay is 20 minutes.
Travel Tip for Hashers from Afar: Whether you're crossing county lines or just navigating Durham’s winding roads, plan ahead! Allow plenty of time to get here—the route may be unfamiliar, and (as stated earlier) we’ll start soon after 3 PM. GPS is your friend… and so is punctuality!
●Bring a bag with comfy clothes and footwear for the Après – and anything else you may need, like sunscreen and insect repellent.
●Got a lawn chair? Bring it! We have some seating, but more is always welcome.
